Instagram follower tracker see who they follow next
Type a public Instagram username to check whether the account can be tracked. Then use Peekd to see who it follows and unfollows from now on, each change with a date.
How to track an Instagram account
- 1
Check the account above
Enter the username to confirm it’s public and within the limits.
- 2
Add it in Peekd
Open Peekd in your browser (or the iPhone/Android app) and add the same username. The free plan includes one tracked account.
- 3
Get dated alerts
Peekd saves the first snapshot, then notifies you about new follows and unfollows as it detects them.
What a follower tracker can and can’t show
Instagram shows a following list, but it isn’t a clean timeline. It has no dates and it isn’t reliably sorted by who was followed last. A tracker fills that gap by saving a snapshot of the account and comparing it with the next one. Anything new is a follow, anything gone is an unfollow.
The lookup above shows today’s totals and whether Peekd supports the account. Public accounts with up to 10,000 followers work. Private accounts, verified accounts and larger accounts don’t, and history from before you started tracking can’t be recovered by anyone outside Instagram.
Seeing who a boyfriend, girlfriend or ex recently followed
A lot of people land here wondering who their partner has been following. If that partner’s account is public, Peekd can show every new follow with the date it was noticed, plus a real-time alert. They aren’t notified and you never enter a password.
Be realistic about what it proves. A new follow can be a coworker, a meme page or a friend of a friend. It tells you what changed, not why. Private accounts stay invisible, and so do likes and messages. If something is bothering you, the follow list is a starting point for a conversation, not a verdict.
Other reasons to track a following list
- Competitors and brands: notice new partnerships and signings as they happen.
- Creators and influencers: spot who they start following before it trends.
- Your own account: check who followed and unfollowed you, if your profile is public.

Frequently asked questions
Can I see who someone recently followed on Instagram?
Yes, for public accounts. Instagram doesn’t show it as a feed, so Peekd compares snapshots and lists new follows from the moment you start tracking.
Will they know I’m tracking them?
No. Peekd reads only public information and never interacts with the account, so nothing is sent to the person.
Does it work on private accounts?
No. Private accounts can’t be tracked by Peekd or by any honest tool. Be wary of anything that claims otherwise.
Can I see follows from before I started?
No. The timeline starts with your first snapshot. Older history isn’t visible to anyone outside Instagram.
Is the Instagram follower tracker free?
The lookup on this page is free. The Peekd app’s free plan tracks one account, with paid plans for more.
