Instagram unfollow tracker know the moment someone leaves
Instagram never tells you when someone unfollows. Enter a public username to see if the account can be tracked, then let Peekd watch its list and alert you to each unfollow.
How to track unfollows
- 1
Look up the account
Enter a public username above to see if it’s supported.
- 2
Add it in Peekd
Open Peekd in your browser (or the iPhone/Android app) and add the username. One account is free.
- 3
Wait for the alert
When the next check finds someone gone, Peekd sends a notification with the date.
Why you never see unfollows on Instagram
Instagram sends no notification when a person is removed from a following list, and it keeps no visible log. The only way to know is to compare the list now with the list before. That is exactly what an unfollow tracker automates.
Peekd saves a snapshot of a public account, checks it again later, and reports who is missing. Each unfollow gets the date it was first noticed, so you can see when a change happened rather than guessing.
Two kinds of unfollow
- The account unfollowed someone. Useful for brands, creators and friends. Peekd shows who disappeared from their following list.
- Someone unfollowed the account. Useful for your own public profile. Peekd shows which followers left.
The lookup above shows how large a list is today. It can’t reveal past unfollows, because Instagram doesn’t expose them. Tracking begins with your first snapshot, and the timeline grows from there.
Limits worth knowing
Peekd works with public accounts under 10,000 followers and doesn’t support verified accounts. It can’t see private accounts at all. If you notice a drop in followers, a few can be deactivated or removed accounts rather than real unfollows, so treat single changes as signals, not proof.
